About Us

I'm Heather Gleason, the sole-proprietor of Brandywine Pet Nanny. I'm a mother of 4 adult children and live in the quaint neighborhood of Bellefonte, Delaware. I've worked in many varied fields over the years, including the food service/restaurant industry, newspapers, insurance, and emergency services. I had a small food and gift shop on Brandywine Blvd. in 2001-2002: Bayan Bayou Food and Gifts. I love to cook all types of cuisine, bake bread, study religions, and do my own home improvements.

Several years ago, my father-in-law moved in with my family. He required assistance with day to day living, but I wanted to earn some money while being available frequently to provide his care. I also wanted a dog but decided the house was too full for more family members. I joined the Rover app in 2019 to fulfill my doggie cravings and began caring for other people's pets. I've owned numerous dogs and cats throughout my lifetime, and I love the warmth and unconditional love they give!

My father in-law passed away in 2021, so I have more time to devote to this business. Over the years, I've developed a client list, thanks to Rover and the referrals of satisfied clients, but I no longer need the marketing and branding Rover offers. And so, the foray into Brandywine Pet Nanny. I'm an avid indoor-outdoor gardener, and since there aren't many businesses offering plant care for when you are busy or away, the joint service offering made sense.

While my client list has grown over the years, there is still space for new customers, so if you're interested in the care I offer, feel free to reach out to via phone or text. We use Precise Pet Care for our scheduling and payments, so it's simple to request service or pay your bill once you are set up. Brandywine Pet Nanny is a licensed business in the State of Delaware and we're insured with Lloyds of London.
